Your ‘Olson’ mask has been stitched with love and care by volunteers from the Upper Eden Valley, with materials donated by local businesses and individuals. Please consider making a donation to charity in return.

The ‘Olson’ mask has been developed by clinicians from UnityPoint Health, a hospital group in the USA. The design is being shared across the globe in the fight against COVID19. The mask is named after 1930's nurse Lyla Mae Olson, a legendary maker of improvised medical equipment.
The aim is to provide a mask that gives a good degree of protection to members of the public without using materials desperately needed for the NHS and other health and care providers.

There are a number of ways in which you may be able to help with this project. If you have a sewing machine and can help sew masks please try the design above first and get in touch if you are happy making them, in any quantity.
The group also needs fabric - any type of cotton material that can be machine washed and is comfortable to wear can be used - and elastic for ties. White and single coloured fabric is good for the inside sections and bright colourful fabric is great for the visible side. Financial support so that fabric and other materials can be bought is also very welcome. Please email Chris on info@maskots.org.uk
